The Death of Stalin (2017) clip: 'I have documents on all of you"
Просмотров 792 тыс.5 лет назад
Playful satire on a government obsessed with ouster plots, lists, matrices and scapegoating, the paranoia that devours the tentacles of a regime built over the foundations of fear and state terror. Black comedies are great when you have the likes of Steve Buscemi, who here cartoonishly portrays Nikita Khrushchev, supported by the great theatre actor Simon Beale as the dangerous Lavrentiy Beria ...

1:10 Beria: It’s time all of you realized who kept the daggers out of your back. Show some fucking respect. I… I’ve got… I’ve got… I’ve got documents. I have documents on all of you. (Points towards Khrushchev) You, 13th of March, 1937. Zolotov Trials. 42 dead, 173 exiled. Your signature. Kagonovich: Beria, that’s enough! Beria: Yeah, well you signed off the life of your own fucking brother! Kagonovich: Oh, you think that was easy, you bastard!? Beria: Bagrov, Gorev. How did your conscience accommodate that? And Zykov! Zykov! Poor blameless, guileless Zykov! ALL OF YOU! ALL OF YOU! I have documents on all of you! I’ve seen what you’ve done. I know the truth. It’s all written down. It’s all written down on a very… on a very fucking long list! (Throws it down on the ground) Just pick ‘em up. Khrushchev: Are we done? Hm? Beria: We will convene tomorrow after the funeral. I will nominate some scapegoats. We can arraign a couple of the officers who fired. Khrushchev: There you go. No harm done. Malenkov: Are you okay? Khrushchev: Only comrades and friends could shout at each other like this.

I feel a mix of hatred and sympathy for beria while its true they should have respected him more since he did save them from the chopping block mutiple times and he was 100 percent right about all them i also feel no adness about his demise the bastard was too prideful and ego orriented beria was just a angry lapdog who lashed back and thought nothing could touch him because he had a few lousey documents i mean it shows when zukov the trigger happy genrel who got a billion medals and seen dozens of deaths and carnage in germany is more level headed then the secretary of state whos suppose to rational 😂

Despite being surrounded, outmatched and isolated, these words and ideas were the greatest threat to Nazi domination, there would be no surrender, no easy victory, every mile, city, port, indeed every street would be paid for with german blood. Tyrants quake when liberty persists, and until all who believe it are gone the fight lives on

I love how Beria tells them all they are just as much the villains that he himself had been. He might have been the head of the snake that bit, but they were all parts of the coil that squeezed the life out of the Soviet people at Stalin's behest. Now that Stalin is gone though, Beria made the mistake of crossing all of them in this adaptation of the events. Bunch of despicable power hungry reptiles willing to sacrifice each other for power in that homicidal nation, just like Beria.
